John Zerafa

Johns Auto was founded by my grandfather, John Zerafa. It has been family tradition for the men in my family to work here in there teenage years. My dad and his two brothers both grew up working here and I am continuing in there footsteps. When I was younger I did a lot of cleaning around the shop. I would clean the bathroom, clean the tools, and assist my grandfather in whatever he would need. As I got older he would teach me more about cars and how to work on them. I started off by removing tires off cars and helping with brake changes. My grandfather ended up passing in January of 2024 and since then I have taken on a bigger role with my father. I do oil changes and am changing brakes, but I am also way more involved in the management side and handling money. I schedule appointments for people to bring in their cars, order the necessary parts, and have also created a spreadsheet that handles all the finances of the business and who payed.

• Collected trash, wiped up spills, and removed trays to maintain fresh and clean customer areas.
• Kept close eye on customers to quickly spot leaving guests and clear tables for future patrons.
• Delivered smooth and timely service to customers by offering additional silverware, extra napkins, and cleaning spills.
• Worked well in diverse team settings by partnering with others to complete tasks.
• Transported dirty utensils, dishes, and trays to kitchen to help team stay on top of cleaning.
• Worked quickly, communicated with other staff and always looked for better ways of completing tasks to improve productivity and keep tables ready for incoming guests.
• Pitched in extra hours and helped other staff during unexpected times of high volume to improve seating availability and food delivery to tables.
• Organized and cleaned assigned sections by sanitizing and cleaning table, counter, and kitchen surfaces.

At Fit Soccer Kids I was an assistant coach. As an assistant coach my job was to help the head coach manage drills, promote good sportsmanship in the kids, and to assist in helping kids grow. Fit Soccer Kids was a recreational soccer program. This lead to me coaching kids from the ages of three all the way to thirteen. Fit Soccer Kids also helped me on how to build a trusting relationship not just with the kids, but with the parent's of the kids. After every session coaches would go and discuss with the parents on their child's development and behavior within the class.

At Cardinal Spellman Volleyball Camp I worked children of all ages. In the morning sessions I would be with the younger kids ranging from First Grade up until Fifth Grade. At the night sessions I would work with the older kids ranging from eighth grade up until incoming high school seniors. I did a lot of one on one training with the older campers(boys and girls), while more group training with the younger campers.
