Teaching NCCER curriculum to TDOC inmates including core safety, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. NCCER is a nationwide standard certification for vocational training. My primary goal is to provide vocational skills to inmates to help them re-enter the workforce upon release. Responsibilities also require close coordination with both TDOC and TCA T to ensure that inmate education is performed in compliance with TDOC policy (safety, inventory, security) as well as satisfying TCAT requirements.

• Assisted in developing instructional materials for diverse student learning needs.

Supervised inmate labor performing maintenance activities. Managed and prioritized work orders from assignment to completion. Responsible for inmate supervision, leading the completion of tasks, supplying inmates with necessary equipment and subsequently inventorying and logging of all tools used per TDOC policy daily.

• Supervised maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
• Led root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures, developing solutions that enhanced overall system performance.
• Supervised a team of technicians, providing guidance on complex repair tasks and fostering professional development opportunities.

Coordinated with the Tennessee Department of Health for inspections of all kitchens and housing units. Instrumental in helping TDOC pass ACA accreditation and achieving consistently high Health Department scores. Responsibilities included monthly compound inspections, monthly inventory of all chemicals and tools, maintaining supply levels for various institutions, and coordinating/supervision of outside vendors.
