1. Operates injection molding machinery and highly automated equipment with computerized controls.
2. Operates all equipment related to the contact lens manufacturing process in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and occupational health and safety policy and procedures.
3. Performs quality verifications and scheduled audits of batch documents to ensure compliance with quality parameters except when there are non-conformities.
4. Follows up and executes adjustments to equipment and process conditions to ensure compliance with quality parameters except when there are nonconformities.
5. Identifies and corrects equipment defect and downtime situations at all times and documents them.
6. Collect equipment yield and downtime data as required by the cell leader and/or process improver.
7. Provides the material required for the equipment to operate.
8. Keeps manufacturing equipment organized and clean and cleans according to standard operating procedure (SOP).
9. Executes batch/product changes minimizing equipment downtime while maintaining strict control over batch segregation.
10. Verifies and controls documentation in the manufacturing area.
11. Maintains and updates production documentation and/or reports on the computer system during shifts.
12. Participate in the review of procedures.
13. Provides “support” to new operators.
14. Assists the “Product Support Technician” in corrective/preventive maintenance.
