• Routine in process welding inspections including checking material to match drawings, welding processes being utilized, WPS verification of parameters as welding takes place, dimensional tolerances being met, final visual of welds acceptable
• Manage day shift QC personnel and night shift QC personnel as well as the quality assurance of shop QC personnel

• Duties included but not limited to building and maintaining a Quality Control Manual to pass audits by ASME and NBIC, maintain active AI log and NBIC log, build test packages for field work and shop work, test and create PQR’s and WPS’s, test and qualify welders and create WPQ’s upon successfully passing weld test, give visual acuity exams and test individuals for VT level II and PT level II papers, maintain and utilize up to date code books including API codes, maintain and control {R} and {ASME} stamps, oversee all shop and field work from a Quality perspective, maintain and control active weld logs for every project simultaneously, coordinate NDE and maintain NDE records, maintain continuity logs for every welder employed, perform visuals and PT on completed welds and build and submit final system turnover packages to clients.

• QA/QC Management for construction on the Enterprise (Methane Expansion) Project including installation in operating units, tank farm locations as well as installation of new construction units
• QA/QC Manager for the turnarounds of furnaces at Exxon Mobil, Torrance Ca.

• QA/QC Management for construction of multiple pipelines from Air Products and Kinder Morgan facilities to a new facility Methanex to provide steam, water, oxygen, nitrogen and methanol
• Projects included the installation of pipe line sleeper racks, road crossing bridges and 2 major highway crossing bridges
• Duties included but not limited to civil tracking and sign off, structural steel tracking and sign off, pipe installation tracking and sign off, paint and insulation tracking and sign off
• Kinder morgan was 100% x-ray and Air Products was majority 100% xray excluding water
• We were able to maintain less than a 2% repair rate
• Duties also included weld mapping, NDE coordination, System testing and turnover

• Managed construction of pipe for 2 new 1 million gallon tanks back to battery limit tie-ins as well as around 20 large bore split tee tie-ins

• Managed engineering, design, and construction of numerous furnaces within the Exxon and Conoco Phillips Refineries

• Coordinate 100% x-ray, 100% PMI, 100% PWHT and hydro-testing to meet a strict and tight schedule
• Also responsible for daily weld count/NDE complete reporting daily to both clients, attending multiple daily meetings for progress, maintaining records for system testing and turnover, Weld Mapping and maintaining a weld log.

• Managed multiple turnarounds including Exxon Mobil Beaumont, Tx, Exxon Mobil Joliette Illinois, Occidental Hercules, Tx, etc

• Oversee and perform quality inspections, supervise activities of field inspectors, coordinate NDE, Weld Mapping, Weld tracking, Alterations of pressure vessels utilizing ASME Section VIII Division III, System testing and turnover.

• FCU Turnaround in Valero in Norco, :
• Oversaw a pipe crew on daily activities, obtaining permits, reporting progress of footage installed and welds made, ensuring job is worked safely and with good quality, ensure crew followed proper procedures and hold points given in work packages, plan work activities 3-5 days in advance, walk down systems to turnover to the QC department, hydrotest systems upon completion and post systems to turnover for start-up.

• QC department handed out travelers/work packages, we installed the piping or did the work on the equipment that was in the traveler and followed all hold points etc that was in the traveler.

• Blinding, isolating of cold boxes for multiple air products plants, air liquide plants and praxair plants. Internal and external replacement of piping and other components.

• When work was slow I worked as a boiler maker re-trying a few towers and pulling and changing bundles from heat exchangers.
