Work History

Medical Assistant

Dr. Martha M. Rodriguez
2018.09 - 2022.07

I was grateful that Dr. Rodriguez hired me at the same practice that I worked on the weekends and to work during the week. As a MA educating first-time patients using insulin, I knew my responsibilities have expanded significantly. I have helped other MAs triage with vitals, IV preparations, on-call overnights for emergencies, performing COVID tests and injections in the practice. This job has created a foundation in medicine for me as I absorb all the teachings from work and will apply them to my patients, making an impact as a future Physician Assistant

Medical Assistant

Dr. Orlon V. Carr
2017.04 - 2019.02

During this time, I performed vital signs, thorough intakes, assisted in removing moles, shaved biopsies, and cryotherapy. I also performed EKGs, prior authorizations on medications, reviewing bloodwork and images with the doctor. My greatest takeaway is that I was able to connect with patients on a more personal level. I witnessed how my patients always felt comfortable knowing that their concerns were addressed. Through the high volume of patients, I was able to get the most from my experience as a medical assistant, learning from multiple providers.
