- Perform the duties of the HCTA President in their absence
- Represent HCTA’s positions and interests to state and national affiliate organizations
- Represent HCTA—and ESP members in particular—to the media and general public
- Act as liaison between the Board of Directors and the HCR/EMAC Committee
- Serve as a member of the Instructional and ESP bargaining teams
- Oversee and increase HCTA’s professional development offerings for ESP members
- Meet with employees at worksites to work to recruit members and building representatives, respond to concerns, and troubleshoot issues
- Hold regular meetings with school board members and other elected officials to advocate for HCTA member interests
- Create and build on existing relationships between HCTA and allied organizations in the community, including coordinating community events on behalf of HCTA

- Work directly with current HCPS Community Schools and work on a campaign to create more Community Schools where the need and motivation are present

- Support clear ownership and understanding of roles, governance, campaigns, accountability agreements, partnerships/alliances among staff and member leaders through one-on-one relationship building, strong group process and clear communication practices.
