My Trapping experience

My best friend, Jay Krottinger, taught me for two years before setting a trap of my own. He showed me the different styles of coyote and bobcat sets as well as remakes. He taught me how to trail snare for coyotes, and as years went by, trapping on my own, I began to use traps on drags more often. With the use of dogs, I successfully caught an uncountable amount of wild hogs that weren't trapped. To expand my knowledge of trapping, I contacted a well known predator control man, aka a friend, Zane Cassaday. He taught me the tricks to fence snaring as well as trapping the single, last left, educated coyotes. While learning in West Texas, we set up Mountain Lion jobs. The locations we were lion trapping was headways of canyons that led to sheep country. Along with trapping and a lot of snaring, Zane showed me very basic use of M-44s. Throughout my time of trapping I have successfully caught coyotes, bobcats, and the use and importance of hound dogs and cur dogs to catch wild hogs and tree lions. To show my support and to further my knowledge of trapping I attend the Texas Trappers and Fur Hunters Assc. meetings and keep my membership. To end my story, I soley believe in the saying "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." That is exactly how I feel about trapping.
