- From August 2025 to May 2026, I worked as a clinical assisting student at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee. My roles included first-assisting in dermatological procedures such as excisions and biopsies, scribing during skin examinations, rooming patients, and preparing the patient and room for surgeries. This experience gave me insight into the collaborative nature of the healthcare setting between the Physician, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants, and patients. Furthermore, I was able to learn more about the scope of practice of a Physician Assistant, and the emphasis on patient-centered care in the clinical setting. Working at this practice improved my skills in maintaining a sterile field, medical terminology, surgical procedures, patient interaction, and collaboration in healthcare.
