  • Enterprise Inventory: This project is for inventory sync between multiple systems/WMS across Walmart. The upstream systems include MF/Unix/Replenishment systems and EI/sub systems. The data is based on different business events occurring from business. RDC develops an intermediary component, based on java Spring boot/Informix/IBM-MQ/Kafka which reads MF data files, persists in DB and sends the data as message to MQ/Kafka topic.
  • PO_RECEIVING: There is an existing process which pulls data from RDC Informix table and updates the Teradata table. Since Teradata is moving out needs a new flow to load the data to Google BigQuery table. A python project to create csv from the RDC data files, load the CSV to Google cloud (GCP), upload the data to Google BQ table from bucket and merge the data to BQ table.

Users can manually enter inbound merchandise information. Walmart Transportation System feeds inbound merchandise information to Appointment Scheduler, which saves users from entering PO information into scheduler. Appointment Scheduler sends to DC warehouse systems. Appointment Scheduler sends to DC Yard and New Yard Management. DC’s configure settings to their needs for how many and what type of appointments they can receive

  • Create micro services for concurrent JMS consumers to read messages from Kafka topics and IBM MQ queues and topics, process the received messages to generate standard messages and publish to queues and topics to consume other project components.

Transportation Data (trips, loads, drivers, and locations) is fed to Quintiq as the data is created and/or updated. Based on this data, Quintiq then optimizes the driver’s workload and presents choices of dispatch to the Wal-Mart Load Logistics Manager (LLM). A user can accept the optimization option or the user can manually dispatch a driver. Quintiq will then send dispatch details to Walmart transportation via a message queue.
