  • Be The Difference Foundation is a non-profit started in 2012 by four ovarian cancer survivors
  • Dollars raised by the Foundation come from private donations, events, peer-to-peer initiatives, grants, and corporate sponsorships and partnerships
  • These dollars fund programs for education, research, and patient services and support
  • As Director, I oversee the day-to-day operation of the Foundation in addition to overseeing our fundraising events, donor recruitment & stewardship, securing community & corporate partnerships, grant writing, and managing state regulatory registrations
  • Our signature fundraiser, Wheel to Survive is an inspirational indoor cycling event
  • Since its inception in 2013, Wheel to Survive has raised more than $5 million in the fight against ovarian cancer
  • More recently, we created Runway for Hope, a luncheon and fashion show featuring ovarian cancer survivors as our models for spring and fall fashions
  • The money raised at Runway for Hope funds clinical trials for ovarian cancer patients through Mary Crowley Cancer Research.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a 100,000 plus square foot sports and fitness complex with over 3000 individual members that included membership retention, recruitment, performance coaching, fitness and wellness programming, group exercise programs, aquatics programming and recreational sports, events and programs and the management of a 3-million-dollar budget
  • Directed the startup and grand opening of a 33,000 square foot fitness complex in 2005 including staffing, fitness equipment selection, layout, membership recruitment, branding and program coordination and implementation
  • Led a customer service oriented, results-based team of 6 department heads and 50 plus employees focused on best-in-class programming to attract and retain members, generate revenue, and comply financially
  • Directly responsible for coordinating and overseeing annual 10K/5K run as well as Kid’s Triathlon which includes race management, fundraising and volunteer recruitment.

  • Hired, developed, and led a customer service-oriented fitness team, coordinated the development and implementation of a program plan for four fitness centers and health promotion program, and managed operating cost budget for our individual site.
