I am a highly passionate, innovative, and efficient professional with background training as specialist in women's health, and a trained research scientist with general interest in reproductive health and a focused interest in preventive oncology. This combination of skills has over the years sharpened my understanding of the interaction of multiple healthcare, environmental, genetic, social, economic, personal, and policy factors in influencing health, disease, health care decisions and health outcomes in different settings, globally. My unique skill sets have been of immense collaborative value in team science, linking patient's lived experience, and both distal and proximal factors in modifying health, disease, and outcomes amongst population. I have played key roles in training, conceptualizing, writing, implementing and dissemination of biomedical research projects and translating such findings to improve health outcomes, particularly in resource-limited settings. I am humble, hardworking, a goal-getter, a resilient team player and leader, prioritizing on team, organizational, institutional and global success rather than personal accomplishments!

Epigenomic Biomarkers of HIV-Associated Cancers in Nigeria
Cancer epigenetics and infections are inextricably linked especially in low- and middle-income countries such as Nigeria where there is combined high burden of HIV, hepatocellular carcinoma and cervical cancer. The study of epigenomic biomarkers in HIV-associated cancers will improve our understanding of the role of HIV infection in cancers and offers the main advantage of earlier diagnosis of premalignant conditions which may lead to effective strategies for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancers in this setting.

Support of Training and Mentoring in Nigeria for Academics (STAMINA)
This training grant has completed its official 5 years activities and was granted a No-Cost-Extension (NCE) till July 31, 2021. I do not have any effort during the NCE under this grant and have adjusted my effort level as such. The training program has contributed to developing research capacity and mentoring of junior faculty for locally relevant research in Jos and Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. The research training and mentoring focused on HIV outcomes, reproductive health, genomics and non-communicable diseases.
