Summary

I have wanted to work as a mechanical technician soley for the last 30 years of my life. But to make a better living I earned a BA in business and and MBA in cost accounting because I was good at it, it paid well, and I was treated well because every job I worked on increased profitability. I crunched numbers on dozens of projects, daily, from seedling, grow patterns, weather issues, retailer demand, logistics (huge part). Quality was first period. our outage rates of product, packaging failure and timely delivery kept us in the 99% of suppliers of finished goods delivered. All this effort in the millions of pounds shipped per day and hundreds of SKU's per week from multiple continents all so Mr and Ms. consumers could go to Trader Joe's , to Walmart to grocery shop and feel safe and well served.

Dixie Technical College

  • I am using my time at Dixie Tech College to absorb as much heavy diesel industry knowledge as I in this short time. I received my Diesel Technician certificate in January and am going to stay long enough to complete my CDLa We own a dozen large diesels at our farm (10,000 acres) including two big daddy John Deere Combines. We don't hire out except during harvest (sweet corn, beans, sugar beats) so most all the work is shouldered by the family. We have been in continuous partnership with John Deere sine 1971. Quality yes, but the main reason we stay in our lifelong partnership is service. You help when we need help, not when you can schedule it or its convenient. I am grateful for your service during the good and the bad times like 2024. Our worst season in 50 years. yet, we survived, bought another Deere and called it a new day when we panted this season.

Principal-Forensic Accounting

USA Frozen Food Pak
01.2022 - 01.2024
  • My role and responsibilities were to gather all manufacturing accounting data (create cost estimates where data had been destroyed) and deliver forensic audit of all packaging purchased by TopCo and its member suppliers for the last 7 years (est. 400mm). This 16-month task could not have been accomplished without the professional support from TopCo’s accounting firms and inside staff past and present. We were able to define a large portion of data which was used to define annualized costs for primary packaging, secondary packaging, shipping frozen LTL, fuel adjustments, storage adjustments, out of stock costs, etc. (TopCo is a $18.3 billion privately held supplier of food and paper supplies to food cooperatives and smaller grocery chains like Harmons and Lin’s locally).

Flagship Food Group/Flagship Frozen Food Group
01.2014 - 01.2022
  • Company Overview: Flagship is a medium/small food company that provides end to end delivery of finished goods to retailers within the USA. Our primary clients; WholeFoods, Trader Joe’s, CostCo., Walmart, ALDI, HEB, Kroger. We also produced our own brands under the labels 505 Salsa, Lilly B’s, and our value brand Treasure Valley. We were a flat management team, just 7 in all to manage the output of finished goods, at 100 SKU’s per week. Many or most of these items were finished and stored. The goal was to manage shipping and delivery dates to have products delivered on time, in perfect condition, with little to no additional costs.
