I have a strong passion for being able to work and relate to people as well as a strong desire to make a difference in this world. I am always looking for my next big adventure along with a long term job to settle down at and start my life! I have been privileged enough to have been able to have some amazing experiences in my life as well as the opportunity to gain some really valuable life long skills that I strongly believe have prepared me for the working world and life. Art of Leadership is a program through Art With A Heart which is a non-profit organization based out of Baltimore MD that's purpose is to give back to the Baltimore Area through leadership training and large scale art instillations. I was a member of the Art of Leadership cohort 8 and was asked to come back and be a fellow to the following cohort (9). After my term as a fellow, I was asked to be the first Student to sit on the Board of The Art of Leadership to help enhance there leadership program and help be more involved on the student selection process.
I am an intern with a program called "Factuality" and it is an interactive crash course on structural inequality. Participants assume the identities of various characters, encountering a series of limitations based on the intersection of their character's race, class, gender, faith, sexual orientation, ability, and age. My role has been to help curate social media content that is used to help promote not only this company but just the overall message of Diversity. Additionally, I work closely with the creator of Factuality and help the company with marketing and outreach in the larger DMV area.
As an Extension of my role as Supervisor of Operations at Harford Heights Childcare, I work with Roland Park Country School as their co-coordinator and supervisor of operations for there Red Hot Summer School Camp Program. This Program is an elite summer program that offer's kids in grades K - 8 the opportunity to explore their passions in an all-summer long camp. My role as co-coordinator and supervisor required me to lead a team of counselors and inform them on where to be at what time. I also was in charge of addressing any situations the came up through out the day, handling arrival and dismissal, as well as communicating with parents, students, and school management on a daily basis.
Harford Heights is a K-8 Childcare program that is run out of 4 well-known independent schools in the Baltimore area (The Boys' Latin School of Maryland, Roland Park Country School, Garrison Forest School, and Gerstell Acadamy). We provide before and after care as well as various summer camp opportunities for kids attending these various institutions. I have worked for Harford Heights since 2019 and have worked my way up from being a volunteer for community service hours to a now CO-Supervisor of oppositions. My day to day task involve lesson planning, interacting with students and parents, as well as communicating with school administration for various programming.
I worked as a team member at a different location for a year and then a location closer to me opened up and I was promoted to a manager. My tasks were overseeing team members, interacting with customers, creating schedules, and helping the team when needed.
I had the incredible opportunity to be apart of Baltimore's National Aquarium summer internship program in 2018. After the program, I was asked to come back and help lead the next cohort. In 2020 I was offered a part-time position as a Floor Manager which required me to be in charge of a group of individuals and tell them where to be stationed throughout the aquarium in order to help guest as they walked through. This role also consisted of me regularly interacting with guest and making sure they were having a great experience, communicating with management to make suggestions, and helping lead my team through various day to day operations.
