I checked myself in to Crossroads April 2019. With hopes of getting clean for a little bit in order to try to use successfully. That was not the case when I found out that drugs were not the problem. I've done a lot of work on myself and found my true calling which is helping others and creating great food. Over the course of the past 5 plus years I've been able to get my peer support certificate my fingerprint clearance card, start paying some of my fines and contribute back to society. I have completed all requirements to reinstate my license, I have a passport now and can leave the country when I want to. 1 thing I am still working on is getting my gun rights restored.
I've had a sponsor at all times in my recovery, I'm currently in my 4th round of steps, I've had the same home group for the past 4 years I was the GSR for a year I'm in the process of starting my own meeting at crossroads. I've had the opportunity to go into ADC Lewis to speak. Starting my new job at Banner has made it impossible to show up for area on the weekends so my service is speaking with newcomers and carrying the message of hope to those on the streets.
