Fully qualified 5-level Crew Chief that performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on highly modified and instrumented B-2A aircraft. Responsible for performing, coordinating and overseeing maintenance and inspections on aircraft that are non-fielded, prototype or preproduction and extensively modified (Type 2) production aircraft that are dedicated to support research, development, test and evaluation. Performed maintenance on specialized and modified mechanical sub-systems such as control surface actuating mechanisms, landing gear, fuel, hydraulic, nitrogen and oxygen systems, electrical and instrumentation systems. Qualified on multiple B-52H ground handling tasks, to include; aircraft movement, launch, recovery, parking, towing and ground servicing. Work closely with production control functions to report current aircraft status, request and coordinate specialist support for accomplishing maintenance exceeding sortie generation capabilities or time constraints. Knowledge of associated trades such as sheet metal, painting, aircraft electronics and aircraft engine work. Effectively use all tools of the trade, test equipment, test stands, power sources, cockpit instruments, gauges and controls. Adept at performing in-process and final aircraft inspections with commitment to unfailing accuracy and safety.
