Philosophy

A high school football team has a very important role to play within its school community. A successful football program brings pride and excitement to the school family and provides the student body, parents, and alumni with a chance to gather as one unit. Within the football program, each player must be treated with respect and value regardless of their size, ability, or impact on games. A football team must provide a high school athlete with the opportunity to grow emotionally, spiritually, and physically while contributing to a cause that is bigger than themselves. While all football coaches are intrinsically motivated by the desire to win, the staff's number one goal is to provide young men with an opportunity to grow and create memories that will last a lifetime. It is no secret that these become much more attainable when the team is winning and experiencing success. Winning, however, will be a product of a positive and work-driven team culture and not the stated goal. It is the head coach's job to be sure each assistant coach has a specific role and duties, and feels as if they give a meaningful contribution to the program.
