I do multiple jobs a day; anything from stacking wood to working on machines. I mostly run the forklift to put wood on the deck for the saws, and to pull the wood off the line, then putting it into the cut stock. I’m also the backup operator for both saws in my building. In the maintenance department, I have welded and fabricated guards to go around all the machines, as well as calibrating each head to the correct measurement for the wood. I track and guide the band saw heads and almost weekly replace sprockets and chains that are worn out, as well as replacing and repairing the conveyor belts. I’ve also worked with some electrical with running it through the circuits for our magnetic gates surrounding the saws. I do anything that needs to be done no matter the job or building, and I’m always willing to learn and do more.
I’m a certified forklift operator. I’ve also taken two intro courses to industrial maintenance and basic components of electrical. I’m also familiar with pneumatic systems.
