Delegate jobs to drivers regarding the upkeep of the restaurant between deliveries. Control which deliveries go with what and when, and who takes them. Manage 3-6drivers a shift while running the back of house, which entails expediting food, being a direct line of communication to the kitchen, and making sure all orders, for both in-house and takeout/delivery, are dispersed accordingly. As manager I make orders as well and keep inventory of what items we have and/or need. Two-three times a week I fill out orders to an outside supplier, and when they are delivered to us, I restock the restaurant.
Learning the basics of project management and managing updates to conference rooms. Along with whatever various tasks would be asked of me, I work with different departments of the hospital for their IS/IT needs. From this internship I gained experience in effective communication and networking. Many out of department requests would fall to me and be added to my daily tasks. Also, I scheduled outside companies to come in and assist with projects the hospital had internally. I had made multiple trips to an outside city (Plano, TX) to assist with another branch’s technological and e-waste problems. Throughout my time there I gained better scheduling and social skills due to all the departments and companies I directly worked with.
Working overnights at homes for the developmentally disabled. Essentially cleaning up and making the house nice for when they wake up, then giving them their medication and breakfast in the morning.
Create a comfortable and enjoyable environment while providing the best customer assistance to anyone who walks in. The goal was to make a pleasant experience to all who walk in. The customer’s experience matters more than the sale, and odds are if the experience was good then the sale gets made anyhow. Know target goals and know sales for every day so the customer knows what bargains there are and aren’t missing out.
Run the kitchen with two-three other cooks, delegating tasks to keep the kitchen clean and functional throughout the shift. Be aware of bigger orders scheduled for the day and time accordingly when to start them, while also managing walk-up orders to get to the customers in a quality yet timely fashion.
Teach preschoolers the basics of gymnastics while providing a safe and fun environment. I also worked birthday parties and day camps with substantial amounts of kids for 8-hour periods. During a class, I would be teaching anywhere between 7-12 kids at a time, all while getting their routines and workouts done in an engaging and timely manner before rotating with coinciding groups. During a party or a camp, I and another coach would have 30-50 kids under our supervision.
