Plant Foreman

MCGP
03.2021 - 04.2021
  • I came in as plant foreman from Sale Ranch GP due to my growth as an operator and my leadership/training abilities. An opportunity had opened up at MCGP due to the foreman there had been demoted. I performed my duties as interim foreman and learning while getting used to a plant that I hadn’t been to in years. Re-learned P&ID’s of MCGP and started to work on getting a lot of process shutdowns re-enabled/back in service as they had been out of service for the last three years I was at SRGP with no MOC in place. I had also helped write up operation procedures for SRGP and MCGP for the newer ownership of the company since it was not up to PSM standards.
  • MCGP was known for constantly being out of spec on liquids C1/C2 to enterprise and being shut in on inerts to the Buckhorn offload for kinder morgan. Within the next month I had turned the place around with the help of my area manager and director of operations to get the plant back in spec which had a history of never being able to. We finally started making spec on combined liquids c1/c2 and proved that we would be able to sell product to enterprise which would not accept our product due to that fact.
  • The plant went from being shut in every other hour due to high inerts to once every 4 months or so depending on inlet flow and temp coming out of cold separator. Which was very difficult due to the lack of inlet pressure to the expander and lack of amine inlet and glycol treating at the front end of plant. Went through three dehy bed changes and multiple start up screen changes due to how they were wanting the plant to be run and the composition of gas coming into plant (high dewpoint). I’ve never turned down a transfer/lateral move/promotion here at WTG because of my dedication to growing and gaining that said knowledge. I am looking to increase my knowledge and grow my time in the midstream company and help people within the company understand how things actually work (or don’t work).
