I, Jonathon Benjamin, was in the United States Marine Corps from 2017- 2021. During my time in service, I was a Riflemen Team leader of 4 men. I later promoted to the rank of Corporal and assume command as a Squad Leader, who leader about 14-20 men. My specialities were Helicopter deployments and close quarters combat in build clearing. I also ensured all my marines were combat ready at all times. Also during my time I deployed to The Philippines, South Korea, Japan and Norway. After being honorable discharged, I started my career at the Pender County Sheriff's Office on 01/10/2022. I'm assigned to the patrol division. After completing field training, I conduct my shift duties which include, civil service, business check and answer call for service. I'm also assigned to the Special Response Team, where I respond to high-risk search warrants and call-outs. I later went to SWAT school. During my time on patrol, I conducted many traffic stops, where I grew my passion for finding individuals involved in criminal activities. To become more efficient in my area of work, I sought further education and attended several criminal interdiction schools. These schools provided me with the knowledge to assess, observe human behaviors toward law enforcement, and conduct roadside interviews. This ultimately helped me find individuals involved in criminal activities and make felony arrests. During my time, I have conducted numerous drug investigations, which resulted in felony arrests. I have also been involved in several federal drug investigations. I surround myself with coworkers who are knowledgeable and is trusted by many at my Department. I complete task that are assigned to me and follow order when they are given. I’m confident in my abilities and I’m look to make the community I work in safer.
