• Remove, install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and rebuild complex avionics systems such as HF/VHF/UHF radios, Secure Voice, and IFF.
• Prepare and execute training plans, document methods to improve equipment performance, and recommend maintenance improvements.
• Create shorthand account of all maintenance done on aircraft via official handwritten and electronic record keeping.
• Upgrade aircraft systems such as Low Power Color Radar, Self-Contained Navigation, Traffic Collision Avoidance and Global Positioning System.
• Follow safety practices and tool control procedures, complying with AFMAN 91-201, DOD instructions 6055.01 and OSHA standard to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
• Advise engineering on operational and maintenance impacts of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) and equipment modifications.
• Interpret technical data, schematics, blueprints, and technical orders, with a strong understanding of complex electronic systems.
• Fill in for Senior Avionics Technician ensuring company goals of safety and quality are always enforced while adhering to daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements.
• Perform operational check after any maintenance of electronic systems, components, and subassemblies for functionality.
