I believe the role of a teacher is to create a safe and fostering learning environment for students to bring their skills and uniqueness. By teachers creating this kind of environment students are motivated to learn and actually feel capable of learning. While I feel my role as a teacher is to educate and teach students, I believe the role of the student is to be the facilitator during learning.I want to make a commitment to allowing students to have their own opinion and views. In my classroom I hope to create a culture that values the views and promotes cultural competence. I feel like all students in my class should be exposed to diversity during learning. I will make it a priority and duty to promote a fostering environment that makes every child feel welcomed.
