Hours per week: 40: Duties, Accomplishments and Related skills: I work as a mechanic installing, replacing, repairing and inspecting HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) with advanced abs (anti-locking Braking System). I’ve assembled and disassembled approximately 1100 units. I utilize the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) to access work orders and activate work orders on each individual asset. The process starts with the disassembly of the old brake system and parts removing shields, brake boosters, solenoids, steering column, gear shifter, tires, brake lines, half shafts, calipers, and rotors with basic hand tools and power tools such as pneumatic impact tools, and electrically operated tools. After full disassembly of the old brake system I install new ABS system with provided blueprints and electrical diagrams for installation which comes in full kits with all new hardware and newly designed components including interior, and exterior wiring harnesses; most assets require light body and interior modification to reinstall parts and correctly install kits. I’ve installed IMU, gateway assembly, HECU, interior harness, exterior harness, solenoids, steering columns, brake boosters, master cylinder, rotors, brake pads, brake calipers, modified vent fittings, brake lines, and reinstalled gear shifters. I electronically bleed the system, drive, test and calibrate the system. If any deficiencies are found or reported I perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on HMMWV. I use a variety of tools including pneumatic, cordless impacts, wrenches, torque wrenches, and ratchets, volt and amp meters, DMM, die grinders and drills.
