Also responsible for directly ordering cranes, scaffolding, and other financial items that are properly coded and reported in CTC's (Cost to Complete) and NetSuite.

  • Responsible for tracking sites that are awarded from T-Mobile, reviewing the documentation that were received during the Pre-NTP, PO, and Final NTP phase; and tracking construction from start to finish. This includes the close out package, TalonView punches, and final approval.
  • Responsible for uploading necessary data to OneVizion and BidLog as necessary while managing the GCs and their progress on a multitude of sites. This includes uploading the scheduled documents and e-mails pertaining to said sites into the shared drive for SBA.
  • I am responsible for the T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless call that occurs frequently throughout the week. I am responsible for coordinating with the Construction Supervisors and making sure that any information that T-Mobile or Verizon requests is given to them. I am responsible for direct communication with the client to ensure our dates are aligned, and to ask them any questions regarding sites where we are pending documentation or feedback from them.
  • Ensuring that the Construction Supervisors are tracking Quality Audits on sites, and any other extraneous duties that fall outside of the immediate scope for T-Mobile and Verizon. This includes Tower COPs.
  • Closing Building Permits, making sure all necessary documentation is acquired to close the job, following up and ensuring that the LL NTP has been completed for each site.
  • Responsible for reviewing TalonView and Ontel COP packages and ensuring photos are within compliance before sending to carriers, and saving it in our internal databases.
  • Tracking material and steel orders and managing financial outstanding items that may slip outside of the purview of the team.
  • Reason for Departure: Relocation to the Houston, TX area due to family and a new opportunity. Job was not at the time remote. They later reoffered me the position, but I decided to stay with Weaver.

Tower Foreman

  • DISH projects, from new builds, to close out packages needing to be completed per specifications. This includes alarm report and testing for link lights, fiber loss, cell degradation, and other external alarms. All paperwork documented and checked, and disseminated to all necessary parties.
  • L&A work for Verizon Wireless, NSBs. Installing new antennas/radios/coax/OVP and integrating all technology through warm or hot swaps per market's standards. This has included building booms on the ground for cranes and flying up, but has mostly been stick building due to resources. This includes supports per market standards. This has also included a few civil items such as H-frames, stabbing posts with concrete, and pouring slabs for generators and cabinets.
  • Tower Inspections: Inspecting Towers per TIA's standards for Verizon Wireless, primarily Guyed and Self-Support towers. This includes the plumb and tensioning measurements, and used the required Theodolite to grab the degrees of all anchors.
  • Troubleshooting for Verizon Wireless. This includes VSWRs, cell degradation, RF loss, and faulty equipment such as antennas and RET motors. Also responsible for reading construction drawings, plumb diagram, RFDS, and determining what additional materials will be necessary to complete the site before arrival.
  • Reason for Departure: Bankruptcy.

Tower Top Hand

  • Scope of work primarily consisted of subcontracted L&A and modifications for Nextel, T-Mobile, and Sprint, as well as troubleshooting for the respective carriers.
  • Maintaining and and repairing equipment, as well as testing equipment with the proper testing technology, upgrading respective technologies as necessary. This also includes rope inspections.
  • Ensuring all documentation including: RTP, BOM (Bill of Material), JSA (Job Safety Analysis), Harness and Rope Inspections, Construction Drawings, RFDS, PPE, Rigging Plan, and any ancillary permits are present on site, and the documentation is understood by the team and how it related to construction. This allowed the Top Hand and Tower Hands to understand every phase, and grow their knowledge and themselves in the roll.
  • Collaborating with the Construction and Network department of the company to ensure compliance, and update them daily on the process and status of the job. This performed, while also working diligently either on the ground, or on the top of tower while ensuring and maintaining quality and safety at all times.
  • Providing mentorship and learning to those beneath me who need it.
  • TIA Tower Inspections for Verizon and Crown Castle on Monopole, SST, and Guyed Towers, as well as modifications when necessary.
  • Ensured safety compliance by conducting regular inspections of rig equipment and adhering to industry regulations.
  • Acted as a reliable resource for supervisors and team members, offering technical expertise and practical solutions to challenges faced on the tower.

Tower Technician II

  • Hired as a Tower Technician II and eventually promoted as Top Hand in the Modifications division of MasTec in the Texas/Humble branch. Worked primarily on the modification of towers from Monopole to Guyed Tower, which included plumb and tensioning if necessary. Example of modifications performed: uplifting the tower with additional steel, core drilling at the bottom, welding per the scope of work, and throwing kickers underneath sectors, or along the insides of specified sectors with particular bracing. Simultaneously doubled over into decommissioning towers, specified sectors, or specified antenna (microwave) if necessary.
  • Performed tower construction at heights of up to 800 feet while maintaining focus on safety.
  • Executed precise antenna alignments using specialized tools to ensure optimal signal strength in targeted coverage areas.
  • Assisted in rigging operations for safe hoisting of heavy equipment on towers during installation projects.
  • Reason for Departure: A better opportunity and lack of man hours due to many changes in the command structure.
