At InterCon Construction my title is Laborer/locator for a horizontal directional drill. I've been working on a drilling crew for almost four years now and have learned many valuable lessons pertaining to the gas and construction field. While on the job we focus on safety and following regulations set forth to keep us safe and to provide the best quality product to our customers. When first arriving to a jobsite we first set a safety perimeter around our vehicles and jobsite (cones, utility workers ahead signs, and flaggers if needed) to ensure pedestrian and worker safety. While on the job I've also learned how to spot marked and unmarked underground facilities before doing any drilling, hand digging or excavating.
