Work History

Product Design Engineer

New Horizons Studio
06.2022 - Current

Beginning at the hand drawn concept phase and followed to manufacturing I design custom complex mechanical, structural and electrically integrated components and systems in a wide range of materials including Aluminum, Steel, Composite and Plastic materials. I am responsible for sketching concepts, producing renders, defining design specifications, product development processes, product requirements, reviewing of technical engineering documents and GD&T. I fabricate and assemble working prototypes in the machine shop and assist in the development of test plans and execution. I use and train other team members in Surface Modeling and DFM practices. I am responsible implementing and managing the engineering teams PDM/PLM Solution.

Digital Asset Specialist

Teknion
05.2014 - 07.2018

At Teknion I was responsible for the creation of design symbols and installation guides for products using Solidworks and AutoCAD. Worked closely with Engineers and Industrial Designers to carry products through their launch. I developed corporation wide standards for market facing digital assets and worked with design and engineering teams to coordinate projects to meet launch schedules. Recreated all currently existing seating models using surfacing techniques and all new products to allow for photo realistic rendering. Developed and ran training for advanced modeling, surfacing, and large assembly building and management. Created an internal ticketing system to track internal and market reaching issues.

Tool Design Engineer

Concept Tooling
09.2010 - 09.2013

At Concept Tooling I coordinated die and mould projects from quotation to customer buy off. I designed Progressive, Hand, and Machine Assisted Transfer dies for the Automotive industry using Solidworks and AutoCAD. I designed and prototyped a carbon fiber racing brake rotor to bring to market. Assisted in the creation of the right hand drive Chrysler 300 I.P Beam tooling and support of the program as product requirements increased, well coordinating with global and local suppliers and distributors. In this role I applied problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues related to tool design, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime. I successfully completed numerous high-stakes projects under tight deadlines by employing exceptional time-management skills and a keen attention to detail throughout the design process. I established effective communication channels with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of necessary materials for ongoing projects without compromising quality or budget constraints.
