Additional information

In 2021 my son Owen, then 2, was diagnosed with profound nonverbal Autism requiring significant support for most of his daily needs. Through many years of extensive therapies and the unwavering support of friends and family, Owen has now gained the skills to transition into a therapeutic classroom setting. Something we were told may not be possible for him. We're incredibly proud of his progress and excited for his future. This milestone also offers the opportunity for me to grow and advance myself as a professional. 

While no one expects to become a special needs parent, it has blessed me with many skills that I believe to be an asset both personally and professionally.

I've learned the significance of proper communication.

The importance of a maintaining a functional schedule and routine.

Time management between the many task that require my attention.

I've learned patience especially during high stress/ emotionally charged environments, and that in those moments, all we can do is stop, breathe, reassess and move forward.
