- Oversee and develop front end architecture for 2 products.
- Assist back end team, getting hands-on when necessary.
- As SCRUM Master lead Agile meetings, groom ClickUp/Jira tickets and align product & shareholder expectations.
- Help plan and delegate tasks across team of 9 engineers.
Notable Accomplishments:
- 2nd largest contributor to codebase out of 29 contributors.
- Planned, managed and helped implement 6 month long integration that received accolades from Senior Management at Stanford Healthcare.
- Saved company ~$100,000 annually by replacing Salesforce with in-house solution using MVC pattern, Final Form and Yup object schema validation.
Front End:
- Visualized real-time high-frequency medical data on 14 unique biometrics, supporting 4 chart variations with Highcharts.
- Implemented real-time chat solution for Doctors to communicate with patients utilizing PubNub and RxJS Observables.
- Debugged integration blockers caused by Internet Explorer 10-11 by transpiling React app with Webpack + Babel, creating AWS CloudFront HTTP headers & modifying TLS security policy.
- Optimized performance and user experience with React Query, lazy loading and caching while maintaining clear separation of existing Redux implementation.
- Created robust infinite-scroll paginated table library using Intersection Observer and React Virtual to display, sort and filter 1000s of rows nearly instantly.
Back End:
- Redesigned system for ingesting and querying time series data from MySQL; migrated to InfluxDB IOx to scale from ~2000 biometric readings per-patient/day to ~1,000,000.
- Implemented user roles and permissions using CASL; led team in moving front end permissions to back end for single source of truth.
- Implemented SAML and OAuth 2.0 SSO with Auth0 for Intermountain Healthcare and Stanford, allowing Azure AD to define user permissions.
- Implemented OAuth 2.0 + OIDC using JWTs and OpenSSL to encrypt private keys inside JWKs enabling secure integration and SOC 2 compliance.
Integrations / DevOps:
- Integrated 2 React apps and 2 NestJS / Node servers with Epic, Cerner & Xealth allowing Stanford Healthcare to use modern apps inside EHR (Electronic Health Record) software.
- Learned HL7v2 & FHIR protocols under tight deadlines, identifying libraries to help read and write HIPAA-compliant data to EHR.
- Worked with DevOps team to help maintain and improve AWS CloudWatch, Elastic Beanstalk, IAM, SQS, Secrets Manager and S3 in production to host, monitor and deploy new features via Circle CI pipelines.
