Summary
Worked as a per diam substitute teacher for a year and a half and a long term substitute for five weeks(May 24th-June 18th). During this time I was able to maintain student engagement and routine in the classroom, manage any behaviors that may have occurred, and navigate closing a classroom at the end of the year. I also worked with the other fourth grade teacher in order to keep plans for learning between the fourth grade classrooms consistent.
I also coached a fifth grade basketball team over the course of the 2024-2025 winter. In coaching this team I was able to set expectations, work with children to grow their skills and potential, teach the athletes to work together as a team when they did not know each other well before, and help them learn the game of basketball.
