  • Provided warm, supportive environment for developing academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Successfully led implementation of new district curriculum EL Education for English Language Arts while also creating original, engaging and interactive lesson plans for math, social studies and science in accordance with NC Standard Course fo Study, district pacing guides within Professional Learning Communities.
  • Was a member of the MTSS Implementation Committee that used a data driven mindset to develop and integrate problem-solving frameworks, resulting in measurable improvements in student academic performance.
  • I was honored to be selected to be a part of the 3-5 Report Card Stakeholders meeting in the 2024 where I contributed to substantive discussions about how grading reforms could support more transparent and equitable assessment of student learning and drive success for all students.

  • As a member of the Media and Technology committee, I collaborated with peers to find a website platform that all teachers within Pearsontown could use to increase communication and engagement with parents. I taught two classes within the school building on how to create and modify personal classroom websites. I also assisted teachers in implementing technology within classrooms and presented new technology available to staff.

  • Successfully worked in a variety of teaching settings. I have been departmentalized for 3 of the combined 8 years in fourth grade and have also been self-contained.
  • As a member of the School Improvement Team, I have collaborated with administration, staff, parents, and community members to review the standards-based grading system and policy. I worked to put together some parent academy nights with other subcommittee members so that parents could get questions answered, oriented with PowerSchool Parent Portal, and update information for the upcoming school year.
