  • Grow, maintain and study populations of Aedes aegypti (yellow-fever mosquito) larvae and adults
  • Dissect A. aegypti larvae with extreme care and precision to successfully isolate samples of anal papillae and Malpighian tubules for analysis
  • Obtain in-depth knowledge of osmoregulatory and physiological functions of A. aegypti body, gut, and anal papillae
  • Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, variable volume pipettes, pH meter, fume hood, microscope, rotary microtome and stirring hot plate
  • Accurately perform procedures of immunohistochemistry, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis
  • Prepare, embed, cut, stain, mount, label and catalogue tissue sections for analysis
