Controls System Technician

Baggage Handling System (BHS) Maintenance

• Conveyor Systems: Perform maintenance on various conveyor systems, including motor repairs, gearbox replacements, bearing changes, and belt tracking.

• Mechanical Components: Install and replace key mechanical components such as shafts, rollers, and bearings. Maintain and repair mechanical doors.

• High-Speed Diverters (HSD): Overhaul and maintain HSDs by replacing paddles, paddle belts, arm chains, sprockets, weldments, Hub City gearboxes, motors, belts, and solenoids.

• Electrical Maintenance: Replace and repair disconnect boxes and control stations. Perform wiring for motors and clutch brakes (480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC). Work on chain-driven and belt-driven equipment.

• Troubleshooting & System Monitoring: Clear bag jams throughout the BHS. Utilize SCADA for troubleshooting issues, identifying and resolving tracking errors, and managing asset routing during maintenance.

• Control Room Operations: Monitor and call out bag jams in the control room while tracking assets and troubleshooting system issues.

• Electrical Systems: Work on MCPs and LCPs, dealing with 480VAC, 277VAC, 120VDC, and 24VDC circuits. Replace power supplies, fuses, communication cards, MSPs (Motor Starter Protectors), contactors, and overhead lights in electrical panels.

• SICK ATR Scanners: Identify and troubleshoot issues with SICK ATR scanners within the BHS.
