My name is Jose Garcia, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Public Health at the University of the Incarnate Word. I have a deep passion for medicine and a strong interest in pursuing a career in OB/GYN. My ultimate goal is to attend medical school and become a physician who can make a meaningful impact in women's health.
Throughout my journey, I’ve worked hard to gain diverse experiences that have prepared me for this path. As the Secretary of the Biology Club, I’ve honed my leadership and organizational skills while collaborating with peers who share similar goals. I am also a certified Phlebotomy Technician and have accumulated over 170 clinical hours in various specialties, including OB/GYN, internal medicine, and orthopedics. These experiences have deepened my understanding of patient care and solidified my commitment to the medical field.
Beyond academics and clinical exposure, I’ve dedicated over 100 hours to volunteering, which has taught me the importance of empathy and service. Whether shadowing a pediatric dentist during high school or supporting hospice care patients as a volunteer, I’ve gained invaluable insights into the human side of medicine.
I am excited to continue building on these experiences, growing as a professional, and working toward my aspiration of becoming an OB/GYN physician who provides compassionate care to patients.
