Crime Suppression Unit deputies work as an independent element of the Enforcement Division enforcing state law and county ordinances. Primary functions include: investigating vice, narcotic and alcohol complaints, serving warrants, working both traffic control/complaints, prostitution, investigating gang activity, assisting the Vice/Narcotic Unit and CID investigating property crimes and other criminal activity. Additional duties include: investigating, reconciling and disposing of complaints,

claims, inquiries or violations of law or regulations of the State of South Carolina; conducting surveillance of businesses and individuals; conducting interviews; collecting evidence and crime scene processing; preparing investigative reports; preparing Solicitor’s packages; testifying in court; performing other associated duties as assigned.

• Enforcing rules; Maintaining order in prisons and jails; Supervising inmates; Supervising various activities; Offering counseling to offenders; Helping convicts with rehabilitation; Inspecting the facilities; Making sure that the facilities meet the standards; Searching inmates; Checking for contraband items; Reporting on the conduct of inmates; Keeping account of all those in charge; Searching visitors for contraband items; Supervising visitation hours; Going on patrol duties; Escorting inmates for both internal visits and transfers; Helping conduct inmates reviews; Making sure inmates get access to professional help; Functioning as part of a team to resolve crisis situations; Responding to first-on-the-scene incidents; Making use of authorized physical control and restraint procedures to control situations; Protecting the inmates’ property; Respecting the inmates’ dignity and rights; Building relationships with other staff members; Offering educational opportunities to inmates; Inspecting the inmates’ mail and personal items; Collaborating with enforcement authorities to prevent crimes.

• As an Infantry Rifleman Squad Leader, I forward deployed to Norway Aug 2017 to April 2018 with Marine Rotational Force Europe 17.2 (MRF-E) to train cold weather capabilities and develop interoperability with allied forces
• Safety attained Expert Marksmanship Qualification
• Instructed incoming Marines on current weapon systems
• Supervised a squad of twelve military personnel and effectively trained others
• Conducted weapons maintenance various weapons
• Upheld basic military operations and protocols in all performed tasks.
