Crime Suppression Unit deputies work as an independent element of the Enforcement Division enforcing state law and county ordinances. Primary functions include: investigating vice, narcotic and alcohol complaints, serving warrants, working both traffic control/complaints, prostitution, investigating gang activity, assisting the Vice/Narcotic Unit and CID investigating property crimes and other criminal activity. Additional duties include: investigating, reconciling and disposing of complaints,

claims, inquiries or violations of law or regulations of the State of South Carolina; conducting surveillance of businesses and individuals; conducting interviews; collecting evidence and crime scene processing; preparing investigative reports; preparing Solicitor’s packages; testifying in court; performing other associated duties as assigned.
