• Utilizes telephone, fax, paging system, and computer software to prioritize and distribute patient related tasks to Transporters in a timely and effective manner to maximize resource productivity and patient throughput.
• Provides accurate and timely input of information into transportation software to ensure proper identification and safety of patient care and tracking thereof.
• Resolves and follows up on dispatch problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints as appropriate.
• Monitors and maintains daily sign-in/out and shift logs.
• Monitors productivity and response times in accordance with department quality standards and reports variances to management.
• Identifies system-related problems and reacts quickly to escalate issues to appropriate personnel for corrective action.
• Compiles special reports from system as requested by management.
• Transport patients during peak periods or emergencies as called upon.
• Confer with doctors and nurses and take orders for patient transport activities.
