Work History

Fitter/Fabricator

Canam Steel
04.2001 - 04.2003
  • I loved this job as I was a mere 22 years old when I started. I began to learn how to read blueprints and bills of material at this time. I eventually became a lead man, who directly reports to the supervisor and leads a team of 5-8 associates.

Fitter/Fabricator

CIVES STEEL COMPANY
09.2003 - 05.2004
  • I was a fitter/fabricator here due to my previous experience at Canam Steel. I fabricated steel beams and detail to exact blueprint specifications for high-rise buildings during my time at Cives. I also learned to use oxygen/polypropylene mixture to cut (use of torch) detail to specifications presented on a blueprint.

Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Leader Position

Vanguard National Trailer
05.2004 - 10.2019
  • I worked on the floor building trailers at various jobs from May 2004 to September 2010. I began training as a Production Tech immediately after this. Once I got access to this department, I also trained as a Maintenance Tech also. We all work together at Vanguard. My experience was good enough to earn a Maintenance Dept. lead position, which I held from June 2017 to October 2019 when I decided to move on to the next job opportunity. Vanguard is where I began my career in maintenance and during my 9 year tenure, I learned every aspect of maintenance that the company required any of the maintenance employees employed there. I was the only member of the team that was heavily involved in the Maintenance and Automation departments. Having the experience of both took me to new heights in knowledge quicker than I ever thought possible. I had experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical (conduit work, installing bus plugs, machine troubleshooting, and much more), press setups, fork truck operation, as well as some basic fabricating. In automation, I learned a great deal of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell software in RSLogix 500 & 5000 as I have had the responsibility to input numbers into the software for our recipes of 3 different machines running on a single axis starting and stopping on product many times. I worked with VFD’s, servos, servo drives, input lasers for product location, power supplies, transformers, heating controllers, battery powered (12, 24, and 48 VDC) machines, hoists (1/2 ton to 3-ton), automated timers controlled by Allen-Bradley micro800s, and many other automated machines.

Maintenance Technician

National Gypsum Co.
10.2019 - 10.2020
  • This is an extremely dusty environment as it isn't for the faint of heart if your lungs cannot handle it. There are many transfer pipes for chemicals and various amounts of powder combination recipes. Electrically powered motion and automated machinery keep things moving. There are plethora of lasers and reflectors as product location inputs. Many scales for production accuracy and many motors moving various product through 6,8, and 10" pipes up to 100+ feet in many directions. There also is a department that turns paper into mud tape rolls that have an incredible product process that requires powered rollers, lasers, clamps, discs for cutting and belts to move product into boxes and pallet loading.

Maintenance Technician

Premium Waters
10.2020 - 05.2021
  • A tough job requiring 12-hour days on your feet maintaining machines that blow up plastic moulds into bottles and filling with water at an extremely fast rate. A lot of troubleshooting of pneumatics and electrical mainly. There is much that goes into the mechanical side of things as these machines work on very small tolerances to move quickly and smooth simultaneously! It's a food manufacturer and is top-notch with body cleanliness requirements, which I had no problem following the rules

Maintenance Technician

Global Harvest
06.2021 - Current
  • This job requires all aspects of maintenance such as electrical, PLC, troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics (very little), mechanical, automotive (fork trucks), and fabricating (some)! Working with grain bins a lot of climbing is required as well as safety in mind dealing with heights. It is a food manufacturer and BRC and body cleanliness is a must. I am on a shift (2nd) all by myself and am required to make many decisions without supervision, and am very confident and comfortable in this situation, but have no problems calling my supervisor late at night, if required for verbal assistance. I believe in asking as many of the right questions as I can to help me make the best decisions to accomplish any task asked of me.
