Dedicated Critical Care Registered Nurse with 3 years of direct ICU patient care experience looking to expand my career into the field of anesthesia where I can apply my current and new experiences to better serve patients in the community.
- Helping facilitate the development of skin champions to help reduce the large amount of pressure injuries we experience on our unit. In this role, my primary responsibilities are to collaborate with other select co-workers, the unit educator, and nurse manager to research evidence based interventions and therapeutic systems to help reduce pressure injuries in critically ill patients.
- Assisted with the launch our new AirTAP system by Stryker and we have seen a large reduction in pressure injuries with only one HAPI in the last 6 months.

I am responsible for being a resource for nurses on staging of pressure injuries, determining appropriate wound care consults, and determining the appropriate wound care to be applied to new injuries until wound care can evaluate.
- Over 400+ hours of precepting experience between nursing students and unit nurses.
- Certified N95 fit testers for the unit providing education on when to use and proper use of N95 to new nurses. I am also in charge of yearly fit tests for the unit and making sure all unit users have their appropriate fit.
- Certified to insert Corpak feeding tubes using the Cortrak Enteral Access System. Feeding tubes are placed post pyloric to help reduce the risk of an aspiration event for high risk patient populations.
