Intermediate Punishment Program

  • Solely responsible for oversight of Philadelphia County's Intermediate Punishment Program managing a daily caseload of 50 to 100 cases, from acceptance into the program through to sentencing and violations of probation and parole
  • Researched and revised the memorandum of understanding for the Intermediate Punishment Program diverting defendants' with substantial criminal records away from state incarceration where applicable;
  • Recommend sentences that include county incarceration, house arrest, probation, and substance abuse treatment. Sought and secured restitution for victims.
  • Secured 12.39 million over the course of three years from Pennsylvania Crime and Delinquency Commission to run the Intermediate Punishment Program.

Major Trials, Felony Waiver & Municpal Court Units

  • Prepared and prosecuted felony jury and bench trials, ranging from property crimes, and drug offenses in the Felony Waiver Unit, to violent crimes, including intimidation/retaliation, shootings, and stabbings in the Major Trials Unit.
  • Engaged in motions practice from drafting well-researched motions to arguing the same. Responsible handling all other court matters of the assigned Assistant District Attorney, including but not limited to bail hearings, guilty pleas and violations of probation hearings.
  • Litigated felony preliminary hearings and bench trials for adult offenders in the Municipal Court Unit, prosecuting all misdemeanor cases.
