Joseph Kennedy

Worked with classroom teacher to learn about current standards and best practices. Cultivated positive relationships with administration, teaching staff, and students. Created, implemented, and reflected on a diverse catalog of lesson plans.

Over the course of 3.5 years, I observed numerous drama classrooms throughout GCS. Took detailed notes on apparent teaching style, effective/ineffective procedures, and how instruction may be differentiated for students with possible BIPs or IEPs.

Facilitated groups of young artists, crafted weekly lesson plans, resolved student conflicts, devised and directed weekly performance opportunities, and cooperated with co-teachers.

Assisted the director by recording and relaying notes, expressing creative input, and leading rehearsals as needed. Improved my ability to create safe, meaningful, and sensory-friendly theatre for children.

Directed a short play for middle-school aged children. Responsibilities included creating and executing a rehearsal schedule, maintaining a safe environment, communicating and contacting parents, and coaching students in acting.
