I completed a certificate 3 in carpentry via a four-year apprenticeship in Australia, working alongside my boss, Tom letters, (Letters Build) who has 20+ year's experience. Working within a small quality-based team gave me a considerable amount of exposure to the building industry early on, mainly residential new builds, extensions & renovations. At the completion of my apprenticeship myself and Tom Letters had the opportunity to build my parents new build home and Tom assigned me Site Foreman for the project. This included measuring & ordering materials, analyzing quotes, organizing trades, time management, site & public safety, liaising with building council and codes compliance. I was involved throughout the design process and paid invoices on behalf of my parents. This gave me both a homeowners and builders perspective on the entire process.
