As a retired Senior Federal Air Marshal I provided and maintained critical infrastructure security within the nation's transportation system on a global platform. I performed regular and extended travel, both foreign and domestic, for several weeks at a time. I worked irregular hours and shifts, and was on call 24 hours per day. While deployed, I had limited personal contact with family and limited time off. I traveled to and spend time in foreign countries that are sometimes politically or economically unstable, and posed a high probability of terrorist or criminal activity against the U.S. Government. In addition, some locations presented health hazards such as poor sanitation and unsafe water.

FAMs must be eligible for and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based upon a favorably adjudicated special background investigation as a condition of employment. FAMs are responsible not only for the security of aircraft but for national security as it pertains to all aspects of transportation and the country's critical infrastructure. FAMs are the primary law enforcement entity within the TSA. The primary Federal Air Marshal job duty is to protect passengers and crew on international and domestic flights from crime and

acts of terrorism.

Federal Air Marshals have the highest firearm qualification standards of all law enforcement agencies and are considered some of the best marksmen in law enforcement.

I held numerous trusted agent positions in the various financial services groups such as Associates National Mortgage, Associates Relocation Group, Associates Home Equity Division and Associates Insurance Group.

As a U.S. Border Patrol Agent, I was tasked with securing the country's international land borders and coastal waters between Ports of Entry.

The primary focus is to apprehend or stop illegal border crossers, criminals, and potential terrorists from entering the U.S. and carrying out illegal activities and attacks.

U.S. Border Patrol Agents are cross designated as DEA and U.S. Customs Agents with authorized limited arrest authority for the purpose of apprehending and prosecuting individuals suspected of narcotics and customs offenses when discovered during the normal course of their duties.
