I started a career at Ingalls Ship building as an electrical apprentice where I got put into a compartment crew. This is where I first started welding. I was building electrical light foundations stick welding 1 1/2” carbon pipe for lights. When I moved ships I learned some tig welding putting together stainless foundations with flat bar and pipe. After working there and leaving I bought a stick/tig machine and starting doing side work fabricating steel pipe fences and doing small fabrication work. I still do side work when I’m not working overtime. Eventually I ended up going to a landscaping company until I got a job at the yard for a contractor, there I was a crew foreman and overseen maintenance repairs that included welding various things that broke on our trailers and machines. While working there I got my call to work for NES ,the contractor I’m with currently, as a fitter/welder. I have been tig welding aluminum, stainless, and copper nickel for them.
Fabricate, fit, and weld structures based on blueprints. I have tig aluminum sheet metal down to 24 gauge and aluminum foundations and pipe up to 2”. I have built and welded out pipe foundations and hangars using stick and tig. As far as pipe goes I have tig welded copper nickel socket joints and 6” stainless pipe. I also have welded structural joints using dual shield flux core.
Managed installation and construction of landscaping projects with a crew of six, occasionally overseeing two crews. Collaborated with customers to address needs effectively. Applied knowledge from previous experience at Ingalls to enhance project execution. Utilized basic electronics and low voltage expertise to install and operate sprinkler systems, fountains, and waterfalls. I also done all welding and fabrication needed for equipment repairs.
