At Mohawk industries,I was able to resolve several issues that effected the efficiency of the production line. Especially the vacuum system problems. Which led to the implementation of a maintenance schedule that solved lingering problems that had plagued the line. I also restored discipline and productivity to a shift that was lacking both when I began. In short order my shift was the most consistently profitable shift of the two in my department. I'm also proud of fact that there were no recordable accidents my entire time at my duties, despite the high level of turnover that comes with being on night shift.
At Art Carpet I oversaw a start up company that saw exponential growth in a very short time. Going from a company that was based mainly on Internet and private sellers to one that had a dozen corporate customers and was still expanding. I oversaw the complete remodeling of the warehouse as inventory expanded from 8 collections to over 20. As the company grew I oversaw new procedures needed to insure the accuracy and efficiency of the incoming and outgoing inventory. I also oversaw the creation of the sample and inventory department, along with the procedures and policies needed to insure their safety and efficiency. I was able to increase the number of shipping companies that we used. Which allowed the company and customer to save money. My biggest achievement though would have to be the improvement of safety in the warehouse. Things were pretty laissez-faire at the start. I was able to procure PPE for the employees, especially harnesses for the stock crew, and the creation of designated walk lanes for pedestrians.
At Dalton SMR I programmed Motorola 2-way radios and oversaw a 2 man installation crew. When larger contracts were obtained I would supervise a number of workers from various temp companies to make sure quality and efficiency standards were maintained. I learned a lot about dealing with a multitude of different problems and conditions at this job, a long with dealing with different preferences and expectations of many varied customers.
I was able to teach several people who had no experience in this field what I knew about the job, and I know at least 2 of them that still make their living doing it.
