Learning Languages

Ever since I was little, I have always possessed an enjoyment for learning different languages and cultures. The first language to captivate my interest was none other than Japanese. I found the way the language sounded satisfying. To me, it sounded sophisticated, addicting, and even a bit cute. Not to mention, I had developed a strange enjoyment to listening to disney songs in different languages. This would only expand my soon to be infatuation with languages as I dove deeper into the countries that surrounded Japan. I would proceed to deep my feet into languages such as: Mandarin, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Ilokano. I even branched off from Asia into continents such as Europe and the sub region of the Middle East; partaking an interest into learning Spanish, French, Arabic, and just a tad bit of Russian. Though, living in Hawai'i, of course I picked up on a few words in Hawaiian and a bit of Samoan. Although I am not fluent in any of these languages, my love and true happiness for these languages are very much real. I hope to one day finally become fluent in a different language and to one day teach my future descendents the same languages as well.

Additional Information

Other hobbies or interests of mine include:

> Geography

If you'd like to test me on this, by all means, go ahead! I'm confident enough to say that I've mastered almost 90-95% of all countries and maybe 80% of their capitals! I can't for match countries to their flags well, but I know a good amount.

> Natural Disasters

Natural disasters was also an infatuation of mine when I was little. Although I grew out of this phase, I still have a great understanding of how most natural disasters are formed and what to do in such situations!

> Listening to music

> Meeting new people

I may be a bit shy and quiet at first, but that does not mean I do not meeting new people! I enjoying making new friends and connecting with strangers! To be entirely honest, I sometimes prefer to keep to myself out of fear that I would be shunned or humiliated for my identity. Despite this, I see attempting to make new friends better than not trying at all.

> Driving around / Doing late night drives

> Playing games

Personal Identity / Information

Although my legal name is Joseph, that name has come to harm me emotionally. I am a transgender male-to-female individual. My preferred name is Cataleya (or Leya) and I wish to legally have my name changed in the future. I hope to work in environments where I feel it is safe for me to openly express myself in a professional manner, such as not being discriminated against and keeping any offensive jokes to little or none. I don't mean to make anyone uncomfortable, I simply wish to express myself in a manner that makes me comfortable.
