I played baseball, and soccer all through high school, I played positions that required me to be constantly communicating with my coaches and teammates. Being a catcher, and a goal keeper, these skills helped me find success on the field and gave me the ability to communicate more directly in life, they also taught me how to manage the goings on around me, these skills I expect to take with me into the classroom to more effectively manage and communicate with my students.
Video Games are seen in different lights by different people. I use video games as an outlet, they allow me to talk with my friends and enjoy myself, however I have skills much like above that stem from the time spent playing. When playing team games you are forced to communicate to your teammates what needs to be done. Such a thing can be said about the classroom as well in that you must effectively communicate the concepts of which you are trying to teach. There is a specificity to everything being taught, so in order to do that, you must be able to carefully explain each section of a lesson.
