As a heavy truck mechanic I receive my job and then check the board for repairs, weather it s PM service, check engine light etc, make the repairs in a timely manner and cost efficient, also check with customer on other repairs that may have been found during inspection and address any concerns they may have. If its a PM service change oil and filters, check unit over completely to insure unit is safe for operation, change tires if needed, make any repairs needed, Once job is complete test drive unit to insure repairs were made correctly and unit is good to put back in service fill out work order and insure all parts have been billed and work order completed, Assist other mechanics when need as far as repairs or other issues that may require assistance. Clean up work area and prepare area for next jo.

Work with service writers to ensure work orders are written up in a timely manner after speaking with customers on their concerns, assign work orders to mechanic's and explain in detail what the repairs are, customers concerns and time frame for repairs to be made, monitor mechanics repair times on each job duties and address any issues that may arise, stay in contact with customer on progress of repairs and if any issues have come up, if extra time might be neede as repair is more extensive than originally was quoted, work with the parts department to insure availability of parts to insure job is completed in a timely manner, put quotes together for bigger jobs so customer has an ides of cost of repairs, After repairs are made read over mechanic write up to insure repairs were made and done in timely manner, make sure work order is given to parts to insure all parts have been charged out, work order is then given to service writer for final write up, customer is then called. Perform weekly safety tool box talks and insure mechanics are working in a safe manner, Work with 2nd shift advisor and go over daily work that has been completed and what needs to be scheduled in for the next shift, Take care of weekly payroll for all mechanics.

Meet with customer and take their information and generate a work order with list of repairs with time for each repair, assign mechanic to job and go over repairs on work order, Monitor progress of repairs and keep customer informed of repairs and if any other issues arise, work with parts department to insure parts are available to make repairs, Periodically check on progress of repairs to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner. Write up Quotes for customers for the cost of repairs, write up repair order and contact customer when repairs are completed, Conduct weekly safety meetings with mechanics and take care of any safety concerns, Meet with 2nd shift and go over daily repairs and scheduling for 2nd shift,

Oversee day to day operations of the shop, work with mechanics along with the foreman's on each shift to ensure the proper flow of work comes into shop and repairs are coordinated by time restraints for the time trucks are dispatched and repairs are made in a timely manner, work with daily operations and dispatch to insure trucks are maintained and ready for dispatch, stay in contact with dispatcher if truck is down for extensive repairs work with parts department and vendors to get quality parts at a good pricing, Look over work orders when completed to schedule trucks and trailers in for repairs, file all work orders and VIR reports according to unit to be incompliance with DOT regulations, Weekly payroll done along with daily fuel reports, building inspections, fuel island inspections, along with daily safety talks, employee reviews for raises, Meet with vendors daily for pricing
