Part of managing the Loyalty rewards platforms is performing the scoring based on the cardholder's transactions and processing cashback, points, statement credit, miles, and gift cards based on the promotion criteria. This end-to-end solution involves 30+ microservices, a big data scoring engine, and legacy monolithic applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the end-to-end system is in a run state and continuously strengthen the monitoring mechanisms to detect issues proactively and deliver results within the SLA.
• I manage three agile development teams, ensure incremental feature delivery, and assess the value delivered with the product and region teams.
• Partnering with the BizOps team and coaching them to improve operation efficiency, collecting feedback, and planning technical features to reduce manual efforts.
• Present my ideas to the architecture forum and bring consensus to set the definition of done for epics and features.
• Constant engagement with marketing, regions, account management, and the product team to understand market demands and pain points and set stretch goals to get greater value from less effort.
• Motivate dev teams to be involved in the innovation days and present it in the org-level guilds.
• Develop some side projects and share them with the dev and BizOps teams to enable feature delivery faster.
• Planning the shared service dependencies, initiating and tracking the paperwork, and getting the job done prior to rolling over our features are essential. Building relationships and helping them improve the process can also unblock enterprise challenges.
• Executing the disaster recovery exercises and peak season readiness. Constantly updating the SOPs to ensure the steps are self-service for the respective teams.
• Forecast the infrastructure requirements and capacity, present them to senior management to initiate the procurement process, and work with Vendors to keep the resources available to deliver the committed features.

This was part of developing a self-service application to build the Load Balancer (SHIELD) using Nginx and deploy it across data centers. 100+ applications, including Apple's iCalendar, moved the load balancer configurations to this application.

Responsibilities

• Developing backend Rest API endpoints to support UI and internal applications.
• Developing batches to apply resiliency and self-healing, claiming unused resources, and reassigning them to new applications.
• Developing Agent applications in all data centers to deploy the load balancer configuration and manage the config from the admin applications.
• Conduct weekly demos, collect feedback, and create the business and technical features. Partner with Bizops to support the production applications.
• Monitoring dashboards and alerts using Splunk and preparing the statement of operating procedures to act on failures.
• Mentoring Junior resources, adding test coverages, and automation for continuous deployments.

• Under the initiative to reduce the annual license cost, 15+ applications were rewritten from third-party proprietary ATG to an open-source Spring framework that Target corporations mainly use for online inventory management and pricing, logistics, HR management and recruitment, and campaign and marketing operations with enhanced user experience and performance optimization.

• Part of the central liability system and collateral management system tools CITIbank mainly used to manage customers' revolving credit lines and the assets that determine their credit limit and risk of offering overdraft.
• Developed the auditing mechanism to record each action in the tool and workflow management to approve the request by maintaining admin and user roles.

• I was part of the team that developed the health dashboards for Readers Digest's Web, Database, and messaging applications.
• Built the Java scheduler applications to check the server metrics using Java APIs and publish the results in the portal.
• We also set the threshold for checking the health status of the servers and initiated email alerts for System Administrators.
• Coordinated with other engineers to evaluate and improve software and hardware interfaces.
