Sharp Packaging Solutions is a pharmaceutical drug packaging company that works with a wide range of manufacturers. These products range from bottled pills to vial packaging.

My employment at Sharp is currently as an Automation Technician, better known as a mechanical technician. As a mechanic, you're tasked with repairing equipment, adjusting parameters on machines, doing monthly preventive maintenance, and much more.

While working at Sharp, I gained a wealth of knowledge from working on the job site to going to programs through LCCC (Mechatronics Pre-Apprenticeship Program). This was from learning about new tooling, ways to prevent wear on machinery, setting up rooms through reading processes, and much more in-depth troubleshooting skills.

• Performed preventive maintenance on automated systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshot and resolved issues with automated systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Analyzed existing production processes to identify areas of improvement through automation solutions.
• Assisted in the installation of new machines and equipment.
• Replaced worn or defective parts with new ones.
• Inspected completed work for accuracy and quality assurance.
• Utilized hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers.

Lutron Electronics designs and manufactures lighting controls and lighting control systems for both residential and commercial applications.

At Lutron Electronics, I'm apart of the electrical components side of the procurement department. Procurements main job is to take care of everything that involves electrical components, ranging from Multi Layer Chip Capacitors to SMD transformers. Our team is responsible for taking care of manufactures part change notifications and shortages. This could range from talking to representatives from different manufacturers to quality testing new components in our product.

My main job in this department is to deal with part change notifications from our manufacturers. This job entails the following..

• Reaching out to representatives with questions I have regarding the change.
• Bringing our electrical and quality team together to discuss said change
• Developing a quality plan from meetings to approve the change
• Using our test lab to perform said qualification tests
• Bringing results to our team and getting approval from corporate to use the upcoming change
• Developing Jira and confluence pages to keep track of the progress of testing

While my main job is part change notifications, I'm also assigned to our SQL tracking system. This would involve dealing with XML and SQL, with coding through VBA, SQL, and HTML5.

CPS Cards is an integrated service provider that specializes in streamlining and simplifying the entire card production process – from printing and personalization to packaging and fulfillment.

My title at CPS is Maintenance Mechanic. This job involves with dealing with problem solving issues with different machines and applying a fix to them to get them running again. The job takes a lot of technical background and the knowledge of how mechanical work together to perform a action. As sometimes the fix might not be crying out to you and hidden behind much more obvious root causes, it takes a keen eye to dial in what is causing an issue in most machines.

My job, as stated above, mostly deals with me fixing problematic machines and solving the issue of why they're one not working or two why they're making mistakes. This could be from replacing a simple suction cup on a valve arm or replacing veins inside an air pump.

I'm also the resident electrical technician as well. This job involves replacing DC batteries to burnt out diodes on a board.
