I decided to take show choir last year to get out of my comfort zone. I have never sang or danced in front of people, and it is not my strong-suit. However, after taking the course last year I loved it. The nervous feeling of preforming in my first ever concert was nerve racking but I loved it. I am very happy I decided to take this risk and try something I never thought I would.
At the end of my sophomore year in high school I decided I wanted to try and play on the football team. I have never played football before in my life. Having no prior experience adjusting to the fast pace and loud environment was tough. However I stuck with it and continued to practice in my free time so that I can get a chance to prove my work on friday nights. I worked hard enough over junior year and the summer after that I am now one of the better players on the team. Unfortunately, during the first game of my senior year, and on the very first play I fractured my tibia. I still have high hopes that I will be healthy enough to play during the latter half of the season and show off all the work I have put in.
I have played soccer ever since I was three. I love this sport and have worked very hard to get where I am today. From countless hour long practices to the long road trips, I have been committed to being the best I can possibly be. My senior year will be no different. I will consistently work to the best of my ability to preform at the highest level this final year of my high school career.
I have shown leadership skills throughout both my jobs. I was the right-hand man for my manager at Jumbos. At my lifeguarding position I was nominated as one of the most capable of being head-gurad for the 2025 summer postition.
During my time at jumbo foods I developed essential customer service, and problem solving skills. On paper my positions description only entailed bagging groceries. However, as I continued to prove how efficient of a worker I am my manager gave me more important responsibilities. These included fixing and filling holes in the parking lot. I cleaned drains and pipes under the refrigerator of the store. My manager would regularly have be train new and even not not hires in order to help them become the most efficient as possible at their jobs. I would consistently be tasked with evaluating other employees. Lastly, I worked the cash register, I did this by myself often. On weekends I would be the "closing sacker" and stay at work until midnight in order to close the store. I often worked between 15 and 25 hours a week during my time here.
