Materials Science and Engineering Intern

  • I began my internship at the University of Maryland, Chemical and Nuclear Engineering department in June 2025 through the Summer RISE internship program. Out of 3,000 students, 1,000 were selected for the program; Out of 1,000 students, I was the only intern placed at the Laboratory.
  • In my internship, I have analyzed data, learned about opportunities in machine learning, and contributed to data collection used by government researchers and engineers for nationally necessary software.
  • I am also a primary coder and designer of the site UI, which has required me to become proficient in Django, HTML, and React.

  • As a Stepping Stone tutor, I help students understand all aspects of biology to ensure they're prepared to excel in their coursework through working alongside different learning methods, using my oral and written skills to provide useful teaching, and personally creating homework to test their specific skills.
  • I work alongside students as young as 6 and as old as 17.
  • As a tutor, I prioritize effective communication and planning skills. It requires consistent organization, decision-making, and thoughtfulness.

  • In the 2024-2025 school year was the Art Officer of the Montgomery Blair High School Science Honors Society. I managed all graphic design and creative endeavors of the club while also contributing to event planning for special holidays and club-centered festivities.
  • In the 2025-2026 school year, I am a Senior Officer, the highest position for a student, alongside 3 other Officers. I, with my peers, organize all events, host meetings and presentations, provide scholarship and internship opportunities, and connect with my school's Broadcasting Network (BNC) to make adverts and encourage student participation for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • I am a Teen Lead Volunteer, leading 10+ teen volunteers in a STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Math) interactive museum, the KID Museum, in Bethesda. I volunteer biweekly on Sundays.
  • During the summer, I volunteered as a camp counselor for over 70 hours, working with grades 6-8 on videography, tinkering, and project development skills.
  • I was chosen as a Teen Innovator in the 2024 - 2025 school year, learning about coding, engineering, and STEM-related career advancement every Tuesday during the school year and summer intensive, where I prototyped and completed a project to show to company administrators. My project was green-lit and will be implemented into the Museum with necessary edits.

  • I was an artist in grades 10-11 and was selected for Art Editor in the spring of my Junior year, where I assumed the position after the Seniors left campus and led the final cycle for that year, 2024-2025.
